I built my first pond in July of 2006. The pond was built to be a home for my Red Eared Slider, Al. What I found was the ponding is addictive, and I now have three other ponds, with plans for a fourth. My ponds are all quite small, but I dream of a future when I can have a pond large enough for me and my turtle to swim together.

Sitting by the pond is so peaceful. I could spend all day sitting by my pond, playing in the water and with the plants. Falling water generates negative ions, which could contribute to soothing feeling, but it could also be the calm beauty of a pond.
